Balcony sections make SPAC one of the most unique outdoor venues in the country. It's very rare for outdoor theaters to have elevated seating and a Lawn. Front Balcony sections - 15-20 - offer an excellent experience. In fact, many SPAC veterans prefer this area over Orchestra seats. The elevated views from these sections are simply excellent.
Arriving early is a good idea. You can also post up right up in the front, near the bottom level seating, for a more full view. The best way to do the lawn at SPAC is to get there as early as possible and get to the rail. I've never been a anti-lawn guy, quite the opposite in fact.
